sp page head: 2020: eM — BODY *SMART*(loving)*kind*(/ness) =balance=

Update 6-15-20: Down ~10%, working on next 5% on Summer'20 5% team: 39 from highest last summer, including the 27.6 in 2020; I mostly left Spark during Feb-Mar cuz Covid deniers &(*!'d me off, came back when Grim Reaper made most understand seriousness)

Happy New Year 2020! SMART* Resolutions (same as 2019):

1) Track Food. DAILY. W phone app if not on PC; else paper.

2) Exercise 10 minutes minimum; most days 20 minimum

3) Water: as much as I can, ideally 8+ cups daily; this is KEY, esp. early in day after coffee

*These are steps in furtherance of losing 100 pounds in 2019: 25 every 3 months (~2 pounds weekly, reviewing progress weekly, mo*onthly, seasonally, maybe with challenges)*

OTHER GOALS/Resolutions

4) Organize weekly; 5) Code daily, train using Udemy & FreeCodeCamp

6) Book a week 7) Blue wave action weekly 8) Art daily 9) Spirit daily 10) Dentals daily 11) Rx Daily 12) Rewards daily 13) Yoga-Mindfulness every moon phase min

WORDs for year: eMbody (to remind myself to be mindfully living in my body) Kind Balance (because that's always important!!!)

SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Real/Relevant, Timely

I originally joined 8-22-07; have been on & off (sometimes way off, off grid/offline in very rural areas)

Still on my voyage of losing half my weight, again, for the third, and final! time; I have the complications of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis w Schmidt's Syndrome (primary ovarian failure @ age 25). I was a vegetarian from 26 to 50, but found out recently (partly via thyroid groups on SparkPeople, -word!) that soy, along with the cabbage family, peanuts, sweet potatoes/yams, etc., is 'goitrogenic': interferes with my synthetic thyroid Rx). *I* CANNOT be a veg without the protein I got from tofu, also tempeh, tvp, seitan (wheat gluten, which may also have thyroid complication implications) —even with the rest of the wide world of legumes which I *have* explored—available to me. So, still grieving a little, years later, I have to eat meat now to meet (ha!) my protein needs.

But into the future: This current time has GOT to be, and is going to be! the last time I have to make this a Hera-oic journey into massive weight loss. It's been going slow, taking longer than the last 2 times (yo-yo thyroid), with repeated lost focus, so several years of no weight loss, and some creeping back up the scale. But I'm motivated by my family -two of my younger sisters and my dad, who has weight-related heart issues too, take high blood pressure Rx, and I do not want to have to take more daily pills, especially since blood pressure Rx interferes with thyroid Rx! Also another sister has recently lost 80 pounds in a couple of years, using Weight Watchers, so seeing her success is good motivation-tired of being the fattest in the family! I was successful taking off over 70 pounds in 2008, and made good progress in 2008 and 2010, with about 25 back on and off and on since then; then back to my heaviest again by 2015-6 when I came back for a short while, but punched and derailed by circumstances. SO: The year of 2019 will be the beginning of the end! Then 2020 will be a big year for the biggest changes, and of losing more to my ideal dream goal. So mote it be.
