10k Baby Steps

Surprised this AM when I looked and notice my first 10k steps in a while, maybe in 2017? (Wasn't tracking for (mostly sessile) early-mid part of 20117. Read a sparkticle (ha: spark article) that said to break it up. So did more steps every hour for first 5 hours, then did aerobic hour work out. Shorter workout today.Goal tomorrow-at least 40 min. Increasing bit by bit works as well. When I began running 30 years ago, it was 30 seconds running 4:45 walking. My running interval increased by 15 seconds each week. Baby steps? OA Sponsor + water tip

  I texted a couple of people & found one that seems like a good fit for me as a sponsor; got my first assignment. Also did a couple of meetings. hen, Did well on exercise, double my goal times. Water Tip: put all h20 in big bottle for the day, then, when it's empty, you know you met the goal. It is the only flavor I like as the others have a soapy taste. I have a water bottle that holds 3 glasses. I know that I need to fill it twice and along with a vita water to have my basic 8 glasses. Full Moon weekend = full of (f)phone OA meetings & now thinking about also CBT & Beck Book

I was down on myself for not going to OA meetings, especially after I had 'slipped' after having done well the first week, then binge-ing (though I reaized later that calorically the binge itself wasn't so bad, but the slip caused depression & further off-plan eating for days) than have been back on plan for about a week. So then I went to the OA team on Spark, & 'shared' there; then something propelled me forward to at least try a phone meeting if I wasn't gonna drag myself to an in-person one; it was good, only 3 of us, but exchanged #s & texted one of them yesterday about how we were doing & our lives. I also went to a newcomer's meeting before the weekend, which was particularly productive one with sponsor phone #s. Thinking I'd hit Sat in-person meeting, but no...car issue, etc. (Thought about dealing with car and started to, but first part took longer than I thought. Still felt very productive, getting that done.) Over the weekend t

Back from a Binge - Craving Consistency

  After a particularly *nasty* time, I held off for one day, then gave into my slow-churn (low-fat) ice cream   & doom. Researching binges & emotional eating, trying to understand how to get over these. The ice cream numbed me out for awhile, so it did its job, but then I don't ever like the long-term results. Must find better way to deal. But I'm back. Went to my group 5k training yesterday, which, even tho way overtly xian, pushed me harder physically than I've pushed myself, & I was still in the 2nd to last slow walking   group (not walk-running, like I'd expected). So if I can stick to it, I can do another 5k, 7 years after my first one.  Member Comments About This Blog Post v SBEAR5 Awesome that you have a group training!
