I read your last blog and was curious how your goals are coming. I love how holistic you are thinking of all the parts of your program. I tend to be like that too.

A thought... although I know for me it felt like I was throwing a wrench in things at first... are you planning any rest days? Might be adding one more thing so you might just "file" this thought to consider at a later time.

I'm on thyroid meds too and one of my guests who stays at the B&B had her thyroid removed because of cancer so is on replacement hormones. I know I had cut out kale and spinach that I had been eating like crazy until I learned that they might interfere with the absorption of my meds... but she assured me that her health team said as long as she was not eating copious amounts they would not make that much difference. So... I have been slowly adding it back into my meals. I guess if it is not working then that is a sign, but all my blood work is coming back fine. I was vegetarian for years until I met my meatatarian husband. Over the past 35 years we have come to some compromises. Growing up with a Mom who cooked meat until it was dry and leathery I was not a fan of meat. Now when I do buy beef I buy good cuts for shishkabobs or BBQ steak and make ground meat meals with lots of veggies (Eat your veggies turkey meatloaf from realhealthyrecipes.com is a winner here and the meatballs from that site have become a go to protein source that I can make ahead and freeze and pull out just what I need. . My daughter has many food issues so no soy, corn, wheat. I used to use beans as a protein alternative but since I became diabetic I started using far fewer beans and lentils. Another daughter is hypoglycemic and needs regular protein. It sure is a learning process but we are getting there! Thanks for your last blog and hope the internet issues resolve soon. Justyna
