SparkNB's Journey to Fitness

  We go through many cycles in life: days, months, years, seasons, lunations, transits, schoolyears, lifestages, etc.     One I mark, in line with my spirituality and connectedness, is the cycle of the moon. Currently la Luna is in the new phase, particularly, according to Western astrology, in Capricorn, which is a creature of Earth, a bull, but often illustrated with the tail of a fish. I used to think of Capricorn as the sign of the business man, until I met one of the most spiritual women I know, my friend Jamie, who was born in the sign of Capricorn. I have also learned that in addition to business and other earthy embodiments, Capricorn is a grounding, a start of new things, a fulfillment of previous intentions and a re-alignment with Terra Firma. In warmer climates, I have planted seeds at this time of year; currently I am in a colder clime, and mostly plant seeds of intention: 1abc) to keep following my daily commitments to balancing, keeping, and tracking my mate...

#myLossIsMyGain that I copied from the spark 'feed' that I posted the other day; meant to blog it to document: 4.4 pound loss! Achieved after first week of winter 5% challenge, this past Saturday's weigh-in still has me feeling motivated.   My strategies: Ramped up exercise to 120 min/daily. Did a lot of snow shoveling, some treadmill walks (ran a little on the treadmill), dance, tai chi & yoga spark vids, PLUS food tracking, several low days PLUS 8 h20s     Down that much partly because I'm heavy, in mid 300's; folks on my team in onederland, and 200's mostly lost 1-2.5 lbs. Still.. it took effort. As a %, they may have had more success, but I am still feeling quite happy about it.         I was hoping for a strong start, to keep me motivated. I could tell, as weigh-in approached that I have lost a little weight on my belly area, was hoping twas real....HAPPY! #feelingAccomplished   #mustFindNonFoodRewards  Update: Bought myself a y...
