Blogday 8 (-4): Blogging 100 days Challenge: Your Own O2 Mask—June Self-challenge: 5 Mind-Body Pract
As we are experiencing, as a society and a world, SO MANY blood-pressure raising issues: covid, riots, white supremacy and racism coalesced into death by cop for poc, global warming, loss of species, etc. etc., never has the time to fight these literal ills been greater, but, as the flight attendants say: 'put your own oxygen mask on first'...

...I found this sparkticle particuarly timely for increasing my own oxygen (literally) to then have calmness and energy to work on those issues:

In summary, the 5 practices, in order, are: 1) yoga 2) meditation 3) pilates 4) tai chi & 5) deep breathing.
For June, I am challenging myself to incorporate these daily, in short amounts of about 5 min.


*I will start my day in the mornings with yoga, and then meditation, then tai chi

*and end my days in a similar way.



*I will start doing pilates, maybe doing some with my ballerina wannabe niece via zoom (Pilates was originally for dancers). May also do some barre work. Haven't done much P so will either do them 3 times a week as the article suggests, alternating with weight-lifting, OR I will break it up as one can do with weight-lifting

*Every hour I'm awake, I'll do deep-breaths, using the 24 hour clock, so at 6 am, I'd do 6 deep breaths, at 1 pm, I'll do 13 (just did my noon breaths of 12). I've been wanting to incorporate a 'Book of Hours' type of practice with focus on the deavinity & alignment with core values (cv alignment is a key focus of mine for this moon's cycle from New Moon May 22 to June 21)
