Day 7 (-4): Blogging 100 days Challenge: Year (& week) in Review (re-do of club52:300+ entry)

I worked really hard this past week on damping down binges (& I can binge with the best of 'em, and it's a huge issue for me, that makes me huge, lol) by always having something healthy available as the first thing available to reach for, in front of the 'bad'/less healthy stuff, & upping my movement while keeping my calories on my lower end, because I really needed a big number at the end to MOTIVATE me and prove to myself that:

This YTD loss of 24 pounds so far (YAY!) was where, in Jan., I had planned, on being by the end of **March, and when I realized a couple of weeks ago that during Feb. I'd dropped the ball (partly cuz short month plus fam birthdays, including mine, plus VDay treats, AND I was the most worried about Covid *then* (I did intense research mid-month and realized it would be a menace for a few years and could have very high death totals, unless the initial testing was ON POINT (which, of course, it wasn't)), and was depressed in March about the Executive branch's horrid response being so SLOW and OFF POINT and WORSE than my Feb. fears, then alternately horrified and resigned (and starting to normalize) in April, especially when states, and Congress ended up stepping up and handling it, more or less almost adequately, and everyone get more normalized in May, especially the latter part of it, including me, and I realized that I was letting myself down, which angered me that I had let outside forces...

...spiral me down and out....so anyway, I wasn't where I wanted to be....
and, so tapping back into my motivation (& allowing myself enough calories to have a dessert almost every night, sometimes healthy, sometimes less so) and focusing and increasing movement and tracking and water and sparking generally and focusing on quality calories, I had a couple of good weeks, and am down now 24 pounds. It's progress, even if not perfection. June will be better, hopefully, even as things in public are uneasy and tense. Hopefully this time it will make a difference!
Have a great June everyone!
Oh, and wish me happy pride, and / or join in the virtual Lgbtq events going on near you!

Love heading into the season of fresh, local produce! Had the first radishes and spinach from my garden this week! The raspberry bushes look like they are loaded with buds so here's hoping they perform as well as the lilacs did this year!

I share your disdain @ the non-efforts put forth in the beginning. Totally applaud those who stepped up to be real leaders.

HUGS and hoping June is a more tame month. **SIGH**
